A little guidance before you visit

Aim for between 5 mm and 10 mm of growth. For most people, that means waiting around two to three weeks after shaving. Hair shorter than 5 mm can be difficult for the wax to catch; if it has grown beyond 1 cm, we can lightly trim it before we begin at no extra cost.

Absolutely. First-time clients are always welcome. Before anything begins, Iva will explain each step, ask about any sensitivities and give you plenty of time to raise questions. We will move at a pace that helps you feel comfortable.

Leave at least 48 hours between applying fake tan and your appointment. During the 24 hours before your visit, avoid sunbathing and heat treatments. Gentle exfoliation one to two days ahead can prepare the area, but skip strong exfoliating products on the day itself.

Yes, your appointment can still go ahead. Please use a fresh tampon or menstrual cup before you arrive, and we can continue with the treatment as usual.

Waxing does involve some discomfort, particularly during a first intimate wax. Regular appointments often feel easier over time as regrowth becomes finer. We work carefully to keep the experience as manageable as possible.

A patch test is required before laser treatment. We also recommend one if your skin is very sensitive, you have a skin condition, or you use a topical product such as retinol or a strong acid. Mention this when booking so we can arrange the test at least 48 hours before your appointment.

Stop using retinol, Retin-A and similar products for at least three weeks before waxing. They can leave the skin’s surface more fragile and increase the risk of lifting during treatment. Even after the three-week break, we will take extra care and favour hot wax over strip wax. If you are unsure about anything in your routine, ask us before booking.

Yes. Iva personally carries out every treatment, so you will not be passed to another therapist or a junior team member. You can expect the same personal care and a consistent approach at every visit.

Most intimate waxing appointments take around 25 to 35 minutes. A first visit also includes a consultation, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes.

Iva will review your consultation form with you and ask about allergies, medication and any skin concerns. The treatment will be explained before it begins, and you will have privacy while getting ready. You will also receive aftercare guidance at the end of this and every future appointment.

For the first 24 to 48 hours, keep the treated area away from heat, including hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and sunbeds. During that time, also avoid tight synthetic clothing, heavy exercise or sweating, swimming pools, hot tubs, fake tan and strongly perfumed products on the area.

Wait three to four days after waxing, then begin gentle exfoliation with a soft mitt or mild scrub two to three times a week. Regular moisturising can help as well. If ingrown hairs are a recurring concern, mention this at your appointment so we can discuss a routine suited to your skin.

A four-to-six-week schedule is usually recommended. Keeping to a regular routine often makes future appointments more comfortable and can lead to finer regrowth over time.

Mild redness or sensitivity is common immediately after waxing and will usually settle within a few hours. If it continues for more than 48 hours, please contact us.
